Why we do what we do:

Being close to nature is something our kids need more of. In this fast-paced world of electronics and social media, we want to help kids reconnect with reality and enjoy the benefits of putting the screen down and getting dirty. Watch in wonder as kids find out how brave, capable, and compassionate they can be when they explore the wonders of farm life!

MEET YOUR CAMP DIRECTOR

Christine Hand
Founder, Executive Director

Hi, I’m Christine! I have dreamed of having my own teaching farm ever since I was in high-school. Gardening, farming and horseback riding have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up in foster care, I found that being close to nature was healing for the soul. Now, I have 10 acres and dozens of animals to share with the next generation of young people.

At Cabin Creek, we have rescued dozens of animals and given them a new lease on life. Sometimes helping another soul feel safe is the best way to heal your own heart!

At Cabin Creek Farm Camp, I teach that caring for animals is just as important as every other part of farming.

One of my earliest jobs was working at the YMCA. It was a wonderful and formative experience, and I had a feeling even when I was 15 that I would have a future in education. I’ve gone on to teach many subjects in multiple countries, and teaching about growing crops and raising animals is by far the greatest fun I’ve ever had!

Did you know? Christine also teaches on YOUTUBE! If you loved learning about chickens at Farm Camp, you’ll love our educational videos. Don’t forget to subscribe to keep watching the farm grow❤️
